We just got back from our 31 week appointment. Unfortunately we were in the "overflow" room and the ultrasound machine in there doesn't have the 3D or the growth scan stuff on it. :-( We didn't even get pictures...ho hum. We did get to see our little pumpkins and they look great. I was close on their positions...kind of. Walker is still completely breech and Jocelyn is transverse or sidewise (that's the part I got right) with her head to the right side of me so her feet are kicking her brother's head! Which explains why I'm feeling so much movement on my left side and just little movements on my right side (probably her hands, elbows).
The stats:
My blood pressure was 147/78, cervical length 3.5 (down from 4.7 two weeks ago).
We got to see Walker hiccup and "breathe" on the ultrasound. That was pretty neat since I could feel him hiccup at the same time. We also saw Jocelyn "breathe" and he said she had a really full bladder so she'd be going pee soon. LOL SO it was kind of a fun ultrasound day (minus the lack of pictures of course). DR was happy with their "breathing" - he said that was a good sign of nice healthy babies. YAY!
He said that he wants to try and get 5 more weeks out of me (36 weeks). He really doesn't think that Walker's going to move out of his breech position so we are thinking it's definitely going to be a C-Section. He said Jocelyn may have a chance of going vertex (head down) because she's close if she just keeps going to the right but it would still be a c-section because Walker is closest to the exit door. I asked him when he thought that would be. He said we'll pick a date as we get closer but he would guesstimate the week of Thanksgiving - either before or after - IF I make it that long. He kind of stressed the IF I make it that long. SO we'll see. Even if we schedule a date that's going to be the latest till we meet our little ones. They could definitely come earlier. On that note - we start weekly visits now! That is super exciting to me! Next appointment is next Friday. He said we'll start doing more testing then as well (measuring contractions, I'm guessing NST...non-stress tests). I'm feeling like it's getting closer and knowing that he's planning on them coming around Thanksgiving makes me feel better. I had asked the nurse before he came in and she said 39 weeks - YIKES! I know...I know it would be great to keep them in there but I am running low on room and feeling VERY full. I was really excited to hear him say Thanksgiving week (37 weeks). They'll do an amnio to check their lungs if they have any worries about lung maturity.
ANYWAY :-) Babies are doing well, I'm doing well, I'm super excited about starting weekly visits and hoping to get some good pics next week. The ultrasound tech promised. :-)
