35 Weeks

We've made it to 35 weeks. Do I hear 36?? LOL Some days I want to get close to 37 (let's not push it and say I want to go over...) and some days I am SOOO ready now. As of this morning I measure 49 inches around my belly and my fundal heighth (approx) is 48cm which equals 48 weeks. I'm huge. LOL

We ended up in Labor & Delivery again last night. My contractions were 2-5 minutes apart at home and were kind of going back and forth with being intense and settling down. We finally decided to go in on advice of my DR. Once we got there and got hooked up to the monitors I was contracting about every 1-2 minutes. Crazy stuff! Of course we forgot the camera at home (which last time we brought just in case) so we figured this would be the time it would happen. ;-) They checked me and still no dilation however my cervix is softening. I'm 50% effaced (better than zero...right!?) and -2 Station. Which means Walker's moving down. Not that that part really matters too much since it's his butt and we're doing a c-section anyway. I wouldn't think they would want him too far down. They'll have to pull him out. Anyway, after a lovely IV bag of fluid (I HATE IV's I've decided) my contractions were still going. Again - I had well over 64 oz of water plus juice during the day so I knew I wasn't dehydrated. Our little pumpkins did great with the contractions again. I don't know if they just really don't like the tight monitors on the NST or what but they just move all over the place when they hook me up to those. It's very reassuring and I love listening to their heartbeats and watching their rates. Nearly as good as ultrasounds. ;-) My Dr gave us the choice of either going home and waiting for the contractions to get more intense (hard to breathe, talk, move, etc...) or check-in to the high risk OB section where I stayed Friday night. I really just wanted to go home if nothing was going on. I had a hard time getting comfortable and sleeping last time. I really hated the IV in my hand all night. Also at that point I was having a horrible backache (just wanted my bed) and I was alternating between being starving and being nauseaus. I hadn't had much sleep the night before because of cramping SO I decided just going home was fine. We don't live THAT far away that Nick couldn't get me back down there if I needed to. The nurse thinks that I'm in the stages of early labor and it could be hours, days, or weeks. OH how fun! I think if I didn't have these contractions it wouldn't be as bad but I don't want to ignore them and regret it ya know? I have an appointment tomorrow morning with my DR and we'll see what he says. I'm really really hoping to get a c-section date. Although with him being out until the day before Thanksgiving ?? I don't know. Even if we could schedule it for that day it would give me a goal - something to look forward to. I'll be 37 weeks on Thanksgiving Day which is considered full term for twins. I think I'm doing pretty good. We'll see if I make it there. ;-) Anyway sorry for the rambling. I'll report more tomorrow after my appointment.

Here's the babies progress for week 35:
You’re now carrying nearly 6 lbs of baby not counting their amniotic fluid, the umbilical cord, or the placenta itself. We’re impressed because that’s a LOT of work non-stop. Are you feeling proud of yourself yet? Well, get to it—you’ve done an amazing job! At this point, your little grower is almost busting out of the womb size-wise, which make their restricted attempts to move much challenging. Of course, your stubborn little sucker is still trying to move around as if they weren’t in a cramped space. And the accumulationg baby fat deposits are starting to level off so your little butter ball will be padded and warm when they head out of their super snug little home.

Since I don't know if I'll make it to next week's photo shots I've included a couple different ones today. :-)

Click on this one to make it bigger if you can't see the text. I tried to put a little "map" to show where Walker and Jocelyn's body parts are. You can really tell how lopsided my tummy is.

Oh boy...contractions! I'll say a few prayers for those little ones to stay put for another 2 weeks at least...the longer they wait, the better off they'll be. I'm sure you're very uncomfortable...hang in there honey! Your little sweethearts will be here very soon.
