Busy Times!

The last month has flown by! Walker and Jocelyn will be 18 months old on the 26th and little Ryder is 6 weeks tomorrow. They do say time flies when you’re having fun and also busy. I think I have those two things more than covered. I measure my time according to naps and meal times. Instead of having good days or bad days I have good moments and bad moments (not really bad…just every child crying and me feeling like my heads going to spin right off). The good moments definitely outweigh the bad and during the crazy times I try to remind myself that I just need to take some deep breaths because chances are in 5-10 minutes we’ll all be laughing and playing nicely or if nothing else it’s nap or bedtime. LOL Things are definitely a challenge and a little crazy having three kids under 18 months but they are SO wonderful, loving, and adorable it makes it all worth it.

Walker is quite a character. He’s starting to do a lot of funny babbling/gibberish so I’m hoping that means he’ll start saying more words. We’re all anxiously waiting for the twins to start talking more/better but especially Walker. He gets very frustrated trying to communicate with us and a lot of times he ends up having a temper tantrum. Unfortunately he bangs his head on the ground so his poor little forehead gets all bruised. Other than that he is a big sweetie and loves to give hugs and kisses and use Daddy for a jungle gym. LOL

Jocelyn is becoming quite a helper. She goes and gets diapers for me when I need them and amazingly when they need diapers changed they’ve started getting a diaper and laying down to wait for me. A far cry from the diaper struggles I had a couple months ago! LOL Jocelyn says juice very clearly. They both love Dora so they’ve got Dora Dora, Backpack, and I’m the Map down pat. LOL They say other things but I don’t always understand. One day  Then I’ll be trying to figure out how to get them to stop talking, right? LOL For the most part Jocelyn is pretty easy but we’ve started 1-2-3 Magic to keep everyone in check. Great book! Jocelyn is such a sweetie and has finally started being more generous with hugs and kisses.
Ryder is growing SO fast! He’s so alert now and has started giving us big smiles. As my mother said when she came to visit – pictures just don’t do him justice. He’s still a BIG eater and I usually supplement three bottles a day. I just can’t keep up with him and the twins. I’m trying to prevent problems we had with the twins so he gets formula at least once a day and he lays down to sleep. The twins would only sleep on me or in the swing for the first 4 months so I’m trying not to do that with him. He still cuddles with me to sleep occasionally (I like the cuddle time LOL) but I try to keep sleeping motionless. He’s definitely a cuddle bug and likes to be held. I get quite a bit done by putting him in a front carrier. That thing is a lifesaver some days!

Things are definitely busy with the kids but somehow I am usually able to get most things done. I’ve even started exercising! I have 7 lbs to go until I reach pre-pregnancy weight for Ryder but about 40 lbs to get back to “me”. That would be the “me” before we started trying to get pregnant and fertility drugs helped shoot my weight up then of course my twin pregnancy. I gained 60 lbs with them and hadn’t lost it all when I got pregnant with Ryder. Then I gained 35 lbs with him. After all that I’m very ready to lose weight, firm up, and probably start a savings fund for a tummy tuck to lose the “twin skin”. LOL For the most part I just want to feel good about myself and have plenty of energy to chase these 3 monkeys around!

Our oldest son, Nate, will be heading back to Omaha very shortly to live with friends and start his life as an adult.  I can't believe that time has come already!  We will miss him and wish him lots of luck and hope that he continues to work towards his goal of joining the Navy.

Until hopefully next month, here are pics from the last 6 or so weeks:
