This started as a blog about our journey in trying to conceive, IVF, the loss of our little angel, my pregnancy and birth of our twins, and our little surprise munchkin. Now we are all on a journey with the Army. This has become more of an update of our life but if you read from the beginning you will find info about our IVF experiences.

We transferred 2 beauties!
Our "lucky" day of 7/07/07 turned out pretty good! I got the call Sat. morning that said our embies were very good quality and 2 of them were "early cleavers". I guess that is really good (??) and from what I read have a higher chance of implantation. Our DR suggested since the embies are such high quality to only put back 2. She thinks both might implant. From her lips to Gods ears!! That would be fantastic! So we went with her suggestion of 2. I had to have a full bladder for the transfer so I started drinking a 32 oz container of water a little before we left and I was almost done by the time we checked in. The nurse said is that all you've had? I said yes (thinking it was a TON!!) and explained I've been told I have a small bladder in the past. She said the DR is very particular about having a full bladder for this procedure and if it's not she'll make me come back and drink more (NO WAY!) so she refilled my container and I ended up drinking almost 64 oz!!! GOOD Lord I thought I was not going to make it. I was about in tears. The procedure went pretty quickly and was painless - ok probably painless because I was thinking of nothing but my bladder!!!! LOL We had to wait for the embryologist to check the tube to make sure the embies were out of there and inside their new home. THAT felt like forever!! Finally he came back with the ok and she had to do a catheter on me to drain my bladder because I thought I was surely going to explode. LOL A little embarassing but I really didn't care at that point. My poor husband was a little mortified but I told him he signed up for this. LOL ;-) SO we got pictures of all 8 embryos to take home. I am just cherishing this picture! ABSOLUTELY adore it. I went back to my room and had to lay head down - butt up - for about 1 hr (and yes I got up to pee about 3 times before I left the hospital!! LOL). Laid in the back seat on the way home and went straight to bed. Still peeing throughout the day. A little bitter about the full bladder. ;-) LOL BUT if it means us getting a baby - I'd do it again in a heartbeat! SO yesterday I spent the day watching movies and napping. My wonderful son made me this strange concoction of macaroni and cheese with cinnamon in it (it was good believe it or not!). Today I'm allowed to be a couch potato and tomorrow as well. They tested my progesterone and estrogen levels at the hospital yesterday. The office called this morning and said those look great so to stay with the 1cc of PIO. I go in Tuesday for another blood draw for progesterone I'm guessing and then I go in on the 17th for my pregnancy (beta..blood) test. Only 9 days away!! I can make it without POAS (peeing on a stick...message board lingo!! LOL). I HOPE!! I'm just praying this is it. ALSO they told us that they were able to freeze 5 of the embies (so one didn't make it :-( ). 5 is a really good number to freeze I think - hopefully we won't need them for a very long time...if ever. :-) Hoping to get twins out of the deal!! ;-) Well I better get back to relaxing. I'm a bit crampy today and hoping that is a good sign and not a bad one!! Here's the pic of the "kids" as the doc put it: (not sure which 2 they put in)
