11 Weeks!!

WOW! 11 Weeks already! OK well not already. It feels like it's taken forever to get here. Depending on what site/book you read I have about 1 more week until I am in the 2nd trimester!! THAT is exciting. Baby Gaga said that the babies are about the size of a plum (each) this week. That's HUGE!! Apparently they're going through quite a growth spurt this week. I think I might be too! I had a little mini freak-out this morning which I'll share because it's pretty funny. I got out of the shower this morning and I swore my boobs had shrunk! No kidding. I was getting upset and thinking something was wrong because my boobs looked smaller. Still veiny and all but looking smaller. I told myself to shut up because I had just heard both babies heartbeats on the home Doppler we rented last night and I could hear them moving around and all was fine. SO I went and put my bra on and lo and behold I could barely fit my boobs in my bra! Apparently they had not shrunk. My belly has just gotten bigger and my comparison between the two were way off!! LOL I feel better now and I think it's quite silly but that's what we pregnant women do - freak out about anything - right?? LOL

The Doppler! WOW!!! This thing is the best money ever spent and SO cool. I actually got a better "reading" the first night I had it (when I was in a super hurry to find them because I had to run out the door). I was able to find Baby A within about 5-10 minutes and heard it's sweet little heartbeat. Then I went to find Baby B. I didn't know if I'd be able to find it because of the anterior placenta. I did find the placenta right off and it sounded just like it did on the CD sample they sent. Kind of like a high wind whoosing through trees. I kind of figured I wouldn't find the heartbeat through that and went back to Baby A. Both Nate and Nick got a quick listen which was nice. I was happily listening away and all of a sudden I heard these two little kicks - like somebody had tapped on a microphone. The CD said that sound was fetal movement. After I heard those little taps I lost the heartbeat. That little monkey just flipped away from me. It was THE coolest thing to realize that he or she was moving around. I don't know why it's amazing because all the books say they are moving but they didn't move much at our last ultrasound so it was pretty cool. SO I went back to Baby B to see if I could find him or her one more time. I went over to the left just a bit more and there it was!!! It was just heavenly. I hadn't really learned how to work the recorder yet and like I said - I was in a hurry. I tried again last night so I could upload their heartbeats and of course it was harder to track them down and keep them focused so I could get a good recording. I was able to record both of them and if you'd like to hear then let me know and I'll email you the .wav files. It's just not as clear as it was the first night so I'll try again in a few days. It's just amazing though.

As for me - I'm still feeling kind of weird not having a shot every night but my butt is definitely thanking me! I'm not really feeling any different. I still get the nausea like I always have, still exhausted. SO nothing new really. :-) I'm ok with that. Like I've always said - it's reassuring to me. I'm a nut - as we established with my boob freakout! :-) Well here is the 11 week belly shot. Enjoy!

Isn't it great to NOT have daily shots! I was so happy to stop mine too. Congrats on hitting 11 weeks with your little ones. I still use my doppler to hear the kid when it gets to be too long between appts and I get nervous (I guess the worrying never really goes away).
