I had my 8 week OB appointment this morning and it went great! We got to see our sweet little munchkin on the ultrasound and he/she was moving all over the place. The pictures we got were blurry because of all the movement! :-) We also got to HEAR the heartbeat. Beautiful beautiful. Again because it was so active we only got a few seconds of hearing the heartbeat here and there but it was music to my ears. We got to see his/her little arms and legs and if you look closely on one ultrasound you can see the eyes. I was excited. I'm measuring right where I should be and the due date is definitely April 12th. I'm actually feeling "more" pregnant than I did with the twins if that is possible. I'm more tired (which I guess could be from chasing after the twins!!) and more nauseaus and have a lot of heartburn this time around. So strange but it's definitely ONE in there! :-) I also have evening sickness instead of morning sickness usually now and I've kind of gone off sweets. I used to LOVE ice cream and all that sort of thing and now it makes me sick. How sad. I crave dairy, fruit, and meat. Oh and red sauce and pepperoni don't bother me in the bit. TOTALLY different than with the last two pregnancies. My OB showed us where my c-section scar was on the ultrasound and that was pretty neat to see. She said it looks great so should cause no issues at all. She also said I'm an excellent candidate for VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section)! YAY!!! That would be awesome not to have the recovery time of a c-section. Now the labor and delivery on the other hand - the c-section sounds much easier. LOL I think I'll be happy with a VBAC though. Hopefully we'll get to do that.
My next appointment is in 4 weeks (4 whole weeks without knowing what's going on!!! YIKES!). It's so weird. Nick said ok cool so we go back in 4 weeks and we should be able to see a lot on the ultrasound. I'm like - no ultrasound on the next one. WHAT he says. LOL Bunch of crap. I forgot to ask her if they do the NT Testing at 13 weeks like I did with the twins. If I can get that covered then I might do that just so we can go in and see the little munchkin one more time before Nick ships out. Otherwise the next ultrasound will be at 20 weeks. Nick made sure to tell her we are NOT finding out the sex of the baby. He said not to let me convince her otherwise. LOL He really doesn't want to know. She said she'd mark it everywhere. ;-) Anyway - all is well and I'm going to close my eyes for a quick nap before my other munchkins get up from theirs. Here's the two ultrasound pictures we got today:
